If you’ve ever spent time at Connections Nightclub you know it’s more than just a great night out. Through the eyes of a first-time clubgoer and the mouths of a few regulars, we take a look at the iconic Connections Nightclub through the ages.

‘Connies’ celebrates a Connections Nightclub – not only the longest running LGBTQIA+ nightclub in the southern hemisphere, but also an anchor for community and an institution within it. For over forty years Connies has endured through adversity and discrimination, becoming recognised as constant through the evolving history of queer culture in the State.

So don your best pair of dancing shoes and join both the filmmakers and a panel of experts, to discover just what it takes to create a space that embodies the spirit of pride and inclusivity.

The WA Reflections project returns to present five new short documentary films created by emerging West Australian filmmakers, all based around stories from the State Library collections.
