Waters Edge Exhibition
The exhibition representing life and existences of living near, on, in or under the water. Come and see the latest exhibition from Art Marx Gallery - Waters Edge. Multi-award-winning artist Joanne Duffy provides yet another stunning, atmospheric painting of our waters edge for this exhibition. Joanne exhibits regularly across Australia and we are delighted to have her art featured at Art Marx Gallery.
Perth-based, Californian artist Dave Calkins grew up in his abstract painter uncle’s studio. It’s where his passion for painting and the use of bold colours was born, and where he first discovered his creative side. “I have explored several areas of self-expression to arrive back at my first primal love – painting,” says Dave. Artist Jeanette Dyson has been exhibiting in groups and solo exhibitions since 1982 and has regularly won awards over the 40 years for her amazing WA landscapes. She has exhibited in London, Paris and New York and we are delighted to have some of her works at Art Marx Gallery.
Michael Gabriel Francas’ work explores remote WA landscapes and his father’s feelings of being exiled from Lithuania in WW2. This combination and being in an unfamiliar place inspired paintings connected to past but represented the present to orient the self. Jacqui Armstrong finds inspiration in everyday stories and encounters, combining texture and form to create unique situations in abstract paintings. An expressive journey, she brings some of her paintings of her coastal life to this exhibition.
Joie Villeneuve’s playful works are inspired from being around the waters edge and her childhood memories of being around boats and marine equipment in her father’s marine shop. The impressions are abstracted into colourful paintings that even include marine materials! Including resident artist Tracey-Ann Morris
