Wilgy Waabiny – Indigenous Art Paint & Sip Workshops

In conjunction with Karla Hart Productions, Yagan Square is proud to present WILGY WAABINY – a series of guided painting workshops run by a gifted Indigenous artist where culture, creativity and community come together across one weekend. This stylish, fun, inclusive, Indigenous sip and paint event is open to everyone with three sessions each day across the weekend of 12 & 13 November.  Sessions on Saturday 12 will be guided by Noongar artist Paige Prior.  Sunday 13 November will feature Errol Eades who paints the famous Carolup style of landscapes.

Each workshop will guide participants through a fun, two-hour painting session. Participants will take home a canvas of their own artwork influenced by the teachings of the session and a better understanding of the stories and symbols behind First Nations Art.

Wilgy Waabiny is about bringing people together, sharing culture and having fun.

10.30am sessions on both Saturday and Sunday will be family friendly with children able to attend with their guardians. Please note children under 16 are not to be left unattended.

2pm and 5pm sessions are 18+ and BYO events. Please bring your favourite bottle of wine to enjoy as you paint. BYO to also bring their own glassware as this is a low impact event and disposable glassware will not be available. Bush tucker snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to be purchased.

Located at Yagan Square Perth – Market Hall Garden (behind the Digital Tower).

Supported by DevelopmentWA and Yagan Square and produced by Karla Hart Productions.
