The City of Swan has just unveiled concept plans for a stunning new lookout near Bells Rapids in Brigadoon, overlooking the popular walk trail all the way to the Indian Ocean.

The viewing platform will be built on the former site of the old Brigadoon sales office, and will have space for a food and beverage van with landscaping and extra parking for the area.

“Constituents tell me they want the derelict sales office replaced with recreational space, improved
parking, safer road access and opportunity for food and beverage offerings,” said Swan Hills MLA Jessica Shaw.

“I am pleased to have been able to secure State Government support for the redevelopment of the site and thank the City of Swan for its contribution.”

Down the track it will be connected to Bells Rapids via walking trails, with construction expected to commence in 2024/25 after the WA Government provided more than $800,000 to the project.

City of Swan Councillor Charlie Zannino is understandably excited about the development.

“We know the community are very keen to see the site revitalised and we are proud to unveil a fantastic new vision that allows the community to actively enjoy the stunning surroundings of Bells Rapids and the Avon Valley,” he said.

The old sales office building is scheduled for demolition in the coming weeks, and you can learn more here.
