Spring has sprung and school holidays are just around the corner – but a new $6.2 million initiative means you can take the whole family to the zoo for free!

Between September 9 and November 30, every Western Australian can claim up to four free tickets to Perth Zoo – which would normally cost a family of two adults and two children nearly $115.

Valid for both children and adults, the tickets are claimed through the ServiceWA app – and will also include public transport to and from the zoo.

As tickets for children under four are already free, they don’t count towards your four free tickets – but you’ll still need to register their tickets on the Perth Zoo website.

The Perth Zoo Free Pass initiative follows the zoo’s latest upgrades as part of the $51 million Perth Zoo Master Plan – with a new nature-based playground, café precinct and function centre officially opening in October 2023, and works beginning earlier this year on a new “Primate Crossing” that lets gibbons swing directly over visitors’ heads!

“The Perth Zoo Free Pass means WA families, no matter their financial situation, can enjoy one of our State’s top attractions,” said Premier Roger Cook.

“Visiting Perth Zoo is a beloved pastime for many Western Australians and this initiative provides people the opportunity to enjoy our inner-city oasis,” added Environment Minister Reece Whitby.

“There are plenty of free zookeeper talks, a brand-new adventure playground, opportunities for guided tours and bookable animal encounters – it’s a great day out with something for everyone.
