With the goal of raising $500,000 in funds for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving research and programs, this year’s trek on October 25 will follow a remote, rugged and rocky hike along the northern section of the Cape to Cape track finishing in Dunsborough – with a 35km route starting at Yallingup Beach or a 20km route starting at Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse.

Organised by long-running women’s health movement Wild Women on Top, routes are carefully planned in coordination with both local councils and National Parks to ensure minimal impact on the natural environment from the event.
Completed in teams of four, hikers are given a training program to ensure they’re up to the task – with WA’s route the most difficult of the six charity hikes across Australia.
“We have a fantastic turn out for Coastrek Margaret River each year and can’t wait to take trekkers on another challenging adventure this year,” said Di Westaway, founder and CEO of Coastrek.
“It’s a stunning coastline and a huge drawcard, attracting trekkers from the local area and from across WA as well as interstate who want to combine a fitness challenge with exploring one of the most beautiful coastlines in Australia.”
