We love our camping around Perth and Western Australia, but in the past the process of booking sites for your trips has been, at times, a little difficult and/or confusing.

That process got a little easier this week with Explore Parks‘ Park Stay WA online campsite booking system getting a serious upgrade, allowing for better management of WA’s campsites and providing more flexibility to cancel/change bookings.

The WA Government is hopeful these upgrades will result in a decrease in situations where campers book a site but the not take possession of the booked date, arrive live or leave early.

There are now 65 campgrounds and 1953 campsites available for booking through the Park Stay website.

“The improvements to the Explore Parks and Park Stay WA websites will help more Western Australians and visitors to our State experience the incredible nature and culture of our national parks,” said Environment Minister Reece Whitby.

“Camping is a popular leisure activity and many of WA’s campgrounds are extremely popular and book out well in advance, particularly during peak periods, meaning no shows cause frustration for campground hosts and other campers.”

Around 120,000 campsite bookings were processed through the Park Stay website last year, resulting in over 970,000 camper nights books.

Head to the Explore Parks WA Website to start planning your next camping adventure.
