We’ve made no secret our obsession with all things Iwan Iwanoff, the renowned Western Australia architect equally beloved and berated for his brutalist style.

And we know there’s a few of you out there who feel exactly the same, so we’re excited to share a cool little event happening next month thanks to DesignFreo.

Their upcoming DesignFreo On Location event will be taking place at one of Iwanoff’s most iconic designs, Tomich House in City Beach (completed in 1971), on Sunday 5 November.

After purchasing the house in 2019, Kyle Jeavons engaged interior designer Jen Lowe (Ohlo Studio) and his brother Mark Jeavons to bring the disrepaired home back from the dead, in the process creating a family sanctuary.

All three will be on hand for a guided tour of the home to share its design story after spending the past three years reworking the home’s unsympathetic additions to restore it to its former glory.

You’ll learn about this process, along with more of the home’s history including its previous life as a glitzy party house.
