City Beach stunner and Iwanoff icon Tomich House has hit the market!
It was barely a month ago that we were gleefully declaring what a good time it is to be an Iwanoff enthusiast, with Featherby House for sale, Booth House beautifully restored, and even Hamersley’s Otto House up for grabs back in October… Little did we know what excitement was around the corner!
One of Iwanoff’s most truly iconic homes and City Beach party palace, Tomich House has officially hit the market.
We’ve long appreciated the gleaming white example of Iwanoff’s work – while the 1971 home (and infamous, glitzy party location!) uses many of the same motifs that are so recognisable in his body of work, its beachside location just moments away from City Beach and its crisp white render also evoke a Miami Art Deco sensibility.
(The stunning landscaping and featured cacti definitely add a certain Palm Springs desert flavour, too.)
Previously purchased in 2019, Fremantle interior design studio Ohlo Studio, alongside architect Mark Jeavons, senior associate at Hassell, were brought onboard to restore the home to its former glory, taking three years to bring it back from disrepair.
One of City Beach’s largest land holdings, the home is also almost three levels above current height restrictions.

We’re picturing cocktail parties spilling out into the front garden, but it’s hard to compete with the equally glamorous backyard – complete with pool and tennis court for the ultimate in summer entertaining.
Can you believe we haven’t even made it inside yet? Equally impressive, it provides ample zones for entertaining or relaxing across its split levels – whether you’re reclining in one of the multiple living areas, or taking in the sunset from the second floor cocktail lounge… Or the amazing rooftop terrace that offers an unmatched view to the ocean.
(Just make sure to keep that Besser block cellar well-stocked for any unexpected guests!)
A sleek, newly-upgraded kitchen compliments the home’s crisp, modern style without detracting from the ’70s vibes, and flows seamlessly to the rear alfresco. Adjoining the kitchen, a stylish spiral staircase ascends to the primary bedroom suite and the rooftop terrace above.
