We’re in love with this elegant 1920s property in the Hills

The word “timeless” often gets bandied about – but how often is it really accurate?

This absolutely stunning 1920s Darlington property is an elegant example of a home that truly stands the test of time.

Known as Kirkcaldy, the ca. 1920 home is built in the style of a late-Edwardian Californian Bungalow – however unlike many other homes we usually see of the same era, Kirkcaldy is set apart by its charming (and robust) iron stone construction.

Adding to that sense of robustness, the porch is enclosed by four huge tapered columns – and when paired with the warm glow of the lanterns either side of the front door, we can’t help but think of sweet fairytale cottages. The surrounding 4459 square block and manicured English-style gardens don’t hurt either!

To the right of the main entry of the home, you’ll be lead into the more casual of the home’s two dining areas, with built-in bench seating surrounded by those elegant paned windows and a cosy double-sided fireplace – its other side warming the adjacent living room.
