Check out the winners of the prestigious 2024 WA Architecture Awards
Winners of the prestigious WA Architecture Awards for 2024 have been unveiled, showcasing the state’s most exciting architectural firms.
Within the residential categories, the strikingly sculptural silhouette of Proclamation House was awarded the Marshall Clifton Award for Residential Architecture – Houses (New). Designed by State of Kin, the Subiaco home makes use of sweeping expanses of earthy, olive-toned render contrasted by the sharp lines of gleaming aluminium detailing.
Taking the prize for the Julius Elischer Awad for Interior Architecture was the stunning restoration of iconic City Beach Iwanoff Tomich House, undertaken by Mark Jeavons Architect with Ohlo Studio – a home that hit the market earlier this year to much fanfare.
The minimalistic designs of MORQ Architecture, based between Perth and Rome, have turned heads yet again. Locally, the studio is perhaps best known for Cloister House – a brutalist rammed concrete sanctuary on a busy stretch of Cambridge Street.

2024 Peter Overman Award for Residential Architecture – Houses (Alterations & Additions) winner, City Beach House maintains the studio’s dedication to pared-back design, albeit imbued with a more relaxed, coastal perspective.
As well as residential projects, the awards celebrate achievements in commercial and community design – with projects including Bob Hawke College Stage 2 (Hassell), Ravensthorpe Cultural Precinct (Peter Hobbs Architects with Advanced Timber Concepts and Intensive Fields), OneNinety (Donaldson Boshard with Rezen Studio) and more also awarded.
“This year’s Award winners demonstrate the incredible diversity of projects designed by WA architects – from state of the art Bob Hawke College Stage 2, innovative homes with a focus on sustainability, regional projects of all scales, and City defining projects,” explained WA Chapter President Sandy Anghie. “The 2024 Awards once again highlight the significant contribution that Western Australian architects make in the community.”
