Now Open, The AGWA Design Store Is Championing Local Creatives
Over the past year, the Art Gallery of WA has unveiled a series of nifty redevelopments – including their rooftop bar and sculpture walk. Now, the latest and long-anticipated piece of the redevelopment has been unveiled, with the AGWA Design Store opening to the public last week.
Curated by local fashion and design power duo Leith Groves and Rob Marshall, the playful range includes a combination of WA-based and international designers – from streetwear to accessories, homewares, books, ceramics and AGWA merchandise.
Featured designers include luxe Japanese-made eyewear from Perth-based Dillinger Optics, stunning statement brooches from Broochella, accessories from Perth design heavyweight Poppy Lissiman, and sustainable wares from label Many Peaks Assembly (among many, many more).

The store will also offer exclusive designer collaborations, and a rotating roster of featured local artisans – starting with visual artist Emily Gibson, whose technicolour sculptures are featured throughout the space.
“Collaborations will form a strong part of the store curation, and we are working on some exciting projects with local designers which we can’t wait to reveal,” said Leith Groves.
As well as these featured artists, the store will be seasonally transformed to reflect current gallery exhibitions, working in sync to celebrate visiting artists and new works.
Most importantly, the store is situated alongside gallery’s the bar and café – so you can wind down with a cocktail after visiting the exhibition and checking out the shop’s wares!
The online store is launching later this month (check it out HERE), or you can visit in-person 7 days a week, from 10AM to 5PM.
