This festive season, buy less and buy better – and support local! Check out some of Perth’s most talented makers at this year’s best Christmas markets.

Perth Makers Market (November 17)

A must-visit in the market calendar has got to be the Perth Maker’s Market. Situated at the Supreme Court Gardens and with over 80 stalls, the festive twilight edition is the perfect opportunity to pop in after Friday knockoff and welcome in the festive season with amazing handcrafted wares from right here in WA. A month later on December 17, the market will also return to Heathcote Reserve in Applecross – so you’ll have another chance to peruse even more goodies for last minute gifts!

Slow Made Markets @ North Perth Town Hall (November 19)

One of the newer kids on the maker’s market block, Slow Made Markets have come out of the gates pretty darn strong with a selection of 30 rather excellent, very cute local makers – including illustrators, jewellers, ceramicists, fashion and heaps more… Check out the full list of makers below!

Made Local Markets @ Stackwood (November 25)

After a three year hiatus, Fremantle’s Stackwood is back with a delightfully curated selection of Perth’s most magical makers. You’ll find everything here for all your gifting needs, all made right around the corner – from small-batch beauty to slow fashion, experimental ceramics, homewares and art.

Perth Upmarket (November 26)

The big kahuna of Perth’s design markets, Perth Upmarket has a truly staggering number of stallholders. Sprawling across UWA’s Winthrop and Hackett Halls, you can take your pick from homewares, jewellery, fashion, beauty and heaps more – all lovingly handcrafted!

Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar (December 1-3)

The Fremantle Arts Centre’s annual Bazaar (now in its 44th year!) really sets the bar high for what you can come to expect from a market. Perth’s premium makers come out in full force, with bespoke homewares, jewellery, clothing, and heaps more – all in the picturesque surrounds of the centre’s grounds.

“As we celebrate 50 years of FAC, we look forward to hosting another exciting year of Bazaar and inviting the community to discover some of WA’s finest hand-crafted wares,” said FAC’s Acting Director Olwyn Williams.

Summer X Salt Xmas Pop Up (December 2, 16, 23)

We reckon the festive season goes hand in hand with the salty season here in WA, and the Christmas edition of the epic Summer X Salt Markets will definitely tick both boxes! Shaka your way down to Clarko Reserve (just next to the Trigg foreshore) and you’ll be treated to a curated line-up of artists, designers, and tasty food trucks, all with a beach-loving (and earth-loving) ethos.

Side By Side (December 9-10)

Now this market is an absolute treat, featuring the impeccably crafted wares of Kura Studio, Kaki Studio, Do Pottery, Namu Leather Goods, Flora Waycott, Emma Lindegaard Studio and Aether. A curated collection of beautiful ceramics, artworks and other wares, we think you’ll find it hard to leave empty handed!

Christmas Markets @ Central Park (December 6-7)

Over two lovely December days head to Central Park’s lush gardens and enjoy a vibrant array of market stall holders including Christmas gifts for the whole family, artisan foods, fresh produce, food stalls, ice-cream cart, refreshments and even a personalised scented candles and bauble station. The markets run 11am-2:00pm, more info via the Central Park website.

Local & Aesthetic (December 15-17)

We can’t think of a better accompaniment to festive shopping than a boozy brunch, and luckily the legends at Local & Aesthetic are on the same page! Their retail offering is delightfully unique year-round, so their festive markets will only take it to the next level, with even more local creators to check out!

Perth Hills Artisan Markets (December 16-17)

Perth Hills Artisan Markets is the perfect introduction to all the delights on offer in the Hills and their beautiful surrounds. The markets take place every other month, but the 16th and 17th of December sees its jam-packed Christmas incarnation, with local artisans making everything from stunning jewellery or homemade condiments to handcrafted kids toys – the perfect opportunity to grab all those last minute Christmas gifts you nearly forgot about!
