On Saturday 8 March next year, Coogee Beach will transform into a dazzling sea of mermaids and mermen as part of the Great Mermaid Migration – an official attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of merfolk!

Part of Coogee Live, from 10.30am to 11.30am, the Beach Hub near the Fremantle Ports Jetty Stage will come alive with hundreds of shimmering tails, breathtaking costumes, and aquatic-themed creativity, promising a spectacle unlike anything Perth has seen before.

Participants and spectators alike are invited to marvel at the colourful mermaid pod, with plenty of mer-magical photo opportunities along the way. And if you’ve ever dreamed of joining a real-life mermaid gathering, now’s your chance to make history.

Organisers are encouraging all participants to dress up in their most enchanting mermaid or merman attire and register to take part in the record-breaking attempt.

While the event is all about fun, safety remains a priority, and there will be a strict “no entering the water” policy during the migration.

The event is made possible thanks to the support of Fliptease, Western Australia’s premier provider of magical entertainment experiences.

Whether you’re dressing up, cheering on the merfolk, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Great Mermaid Migration promises to be a truly unforgettable moment at Coogee Live.
