We’ve all got someone on our Christmas lists… Someone that’s impossible to find the right present for!

So, what do you get the person who has everything?

How about an artisanal, locally made, expertly-crafted guide to the best and worst toilets in the Perth CBD?

(We’ve saved Christmas, we know – you’re all very welcome!)

Created by Perth illustrator, photographer and musician Dan Grant of LaundryPress, the zine features an illustrated map stretching from Northbridge to St Georges Terrace – and everywhere therein to do your ones and twos!

Within the fold-out A3 map, each location has been thoughtfully rated and colour coded on its cleanliness, accessibility and how, ahem, secluded each site is – a rating which is “relative, not absolute,” as Dan clarifies in the zine’s introduction. “Green does not necessarily mean palatial, just good compared to the rest.”

“Made for those like me who work a lot in the city without an HQ, and for people with shall we say, short lead times and intestinal issues,” explained Dan.

“No cleaners or McDonald’s patrons were judged in the making of this zine.”

For a measly five bucks, we absolutely cannot think of a better gift for almost everyone we know. Friends, family – avert your eyes! We know what’s going in everyone’s stocking this year…

If the city’s toilets aren’t your jam (OK, fancy pants?!), the LaundryPress webstore is also filled with delights like People I Drew At Jamaica Blue (Volumes I, II and II), a spectacular linocut print in ode to a romantic Bin Chicken, and even a linocut print of Leeming Japanese restaurant Ichirin.
