We’ve got huge news for fantasy nerds and film fanatics alike (ourselves included): The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale is coming to Perth!
Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved, epic trilogy, the journey to Middle-earth will look a little different – taking on a whole new magic as a stage musical featuring live original songs and music by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, Finnish folk band Värttinä, and Tony-winning composer Christopher Nightingale.

The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale comes to Perth’s Crown Theatre in March 2025, following productions in the UK and Chicago – and will feature a huge company of 32 Australian actors and musicians.
“We’ve assembled some of the best actors, musicians, and musical theatre talent from across Australia to bring this epic tale to life on stage,” said Australian Producer Torben Brookman, GWB Entertainment.
“This company of extraordinary storytellers will share one of the most beloved stories of our generation live on-stage, all-around Australia, for the very first time.”
The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale will be playing at Crown Theatre, Perth from March 19, 2025.
