Do you want to have your say on the future of Perth? Well, you can, thanks to a new survey as part of the Perth 2050 project.

If you have a thought or a feeling on how our city should look in 25 (and a bit) years’ time, then have your say through the Perth 2050 survey.

The survey is all part of new research being conducted by the Committee for Perth, in partnership with Scitech and well-known futurist (cool job title) Dr Ben Hamer.

All the data from the survey and the research will be compiled into the 2050 Report, which will be launched later this year.

“We can’t afford to be passive, because if we don’t plan for the future now, we risk inheriting a future designed for someone else,” Dr Hamer said.

“The research report will have the potential to be used to inform everything from government policy to business strategy, community planning and investment decisions.

“So together we really believe we can create a future for Perth that is vibrant, sustainable and inclusive”

So, the researchers want to hear from as many people as possible about what they think Perth should be like in 2050.

From the responses from you (the people of Perth), the researchers will be able to paint a picture of what life could look like in Perth in 2050 – and will inform some of the key things needed to think about today in order to get there.

“While 2050 might seem a long way down the track, it’s only 25 years away and now is the time for us to be seriously planning for the future of the Perth region,” Committee for Perth CEO, Paula Rogers said. “It’s incredibly straightforward, all responses remain anonymous, and it only takes about 10 minutes to complete.”

“If you live in Perth and want it to be the most liveable place it can be, please complete the survey and contribute to our future planning and preparation,” she added. “And once you’ve done it, please share the survey with your colleagues, family, friends and community.”

The survey runs until midnight on September 23, and it should only take you 10-15 minutes maximum to complete.
