Poppy Lissiman joins forces with iconic British designer for latest collab
While borders in Perth were finally opening up in the summer of 2022, accessories designer Poppy Lissiman was already in London beginning a collaboration with British fashion and textile designer, Dame Zandra Rhodes.
Easily recognised by her Barbie pink hair and known as the ‘The Princess of Punk’, Rhodes boasts clients such as Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana. It’s been her ability to combine colour and prints which has brought her continued notoriety since the 1980s.

Banding together, the two have combined some of Rhodes’s iconic motifs with the iconic shapes of Lissiman’s sunglasses and handbags. Fans of the Perth-based brand will be thrilled to see a new handbag shape in this collaboration—the Frill Bag.

Inspired by Rhodes’s use of pleating, the new bag features a consistent frill detailing around the bag. The detailing itself was inspired by pictures of prints Lissiman took inside Rhodes’s London Studio of frill detailing. The new shape has been released in three colours: black, cream and aptly, a Barbie pink.
“It truly has been a once-in-a-life-time pinch me moment working with Zandra, I have grown up admiring her work so much, even spending many hours trawling vintage stores hoping to turn up one of her famous printed dresses,” said Lissiman.
“It’s not every day you get to work one on one with an icon of her magnitude.”
