It’s time to get around our fave community station for Radiothon week!
It’s that time of year when independent radio station RTRFM rolls out its annual subscription drive, Radiothon!
For a week from Friday 16 August, the station is calling on listeners both loyal and new to subscribe, donate, and help keep the station on the airwaves for years to come.
RTRFM has been doing important work in Western Australian music for 47 (!) years, and Radiothon is a key component of keeping the good times rolling.
It’s also a super fun week on and off the airwaves, with heaps of special guests, huge giveaways and the community coming together for a good cause.
Proceedings kick off tomorrow morning at 6am with the annual breakfast at The Bird, including a live edition of Breakfast with Pam and DJ power group Sealed Section bringing the tunes to get your week off to the best possible start.
From there Saturday 17 August is the real big dance at The Rechabite for the annual Radiothon Party – grab tickets here.

It’s a huge lineup of Boorloo’s best, including Myriad Sun, Sarco, Bribes, RATSALAD as well as CLUB V/A (Midnight Elevator, Terminal, Mutual Affection and Hyde Park Hi-Fi) taking over the Goodwill Basement for a massive dance party!
Meanwhile up on the rooftop they’ll be celebrating 10 Years of Cloud Waves, RTRFM’s modern rap and R&B show, with sets from Aslan, Nafta, Cee, Bl66ke and Hyclass.
The funds raised through subscriptions and donations play a vital role in covering essential expenses for RTRFM like licensing fees, presenter training fees, equipment and staffing costs.
During Radiothon, the funds raised are especially instrumental in supporting RTRFM’s renowned live music events, including the long-standing In the Pines event held at Somerville Auditorium and the Fremantle Winter Music Party.
