An interactive installation that merges digital art and floristry is coming to Subiaco in April!

Stem by Stem has been created by Melbourne design studio ENESS, and this will be the first time the installation has made its way to WA – and only appearing in Sydney and Sapporo, Japan before this.

The installation will be part of Subi Blooms, Subiaco’s annual explosion of floral displays that coincides with Mother’s Day each year – but will be arriving three weeks before the Mother’s Day weekend and remaining for an additional week after.

The interactive work includes several motifs that ENESS is known for, with anthropomorphised characters with motion-tracking eyes, covered in patterns inspired by traditional Japanese textiles.

Both three metre-tall characters will also be holding an overflowing bouquet, created by acclaimed Perth floral artist Sir Botanical.

Stem by Stem will be located on Seddon Street (near the entrance to ONE Subiaco) from April 19 to May 19, and will be accessible 24/7 during the exhibition period.
