Vote for Babs, the only Aussie in Int’l Penguins’ March of the Penguin Madness comp!
If you’ve got a case of the Monday blues, we’ve got something for you to do today to hopefully put a little spring on your step, while helping out a cute little penguin in the process!
Barbara AKA Babs AKA Barbara Gordon (her full government name), is a beautiful young rescue bird who lives at Caversham Wildlife Park after being found on Penguin Island with a broken flipper, and this year she’s the only Aussie penguin in the running for Penguin International’s March of the Penguin Madness.

Hundreds of nominees were wittled down to 48 contenders, and there can only be one champion, and here’s hoping you can help it be Barbara by chucking her a vote.
Liv from Caversham gives us a little more Babs’ backstory:
“She has an old injury that was unable to be repaired, so she can only use one flipper, though her flipper does trip her up sometimes, it doesn’t slow her down! She has adapted to life with one working flipper, including jumping into the pool feet first like a tin solider 🫡 (penguin’s usually dive in head first)…
“WA’s Little Penguin population has declined rapidly over the few years and we think Babs is a great mascot to raise awareness for our special native penguins!”
It’s easy to vote and you don’t have to handover any information, just head to penguinsinternational.org/motpm-voting/ , find Barbara and chuck her a vote before 2pm WST on Tuesday 19 March i.e. tomorro!
