WA Day Festival announces all local music lineup for rescheduled event later this month
After bad weather forced the cancellation of the WA Day Festival earlier this year, the rescheduled event has announced a new music lineup hitting the stage on Sunday 24 November at Burswood Park.
After copping a bit of flack for the east coast guests scheduled to appear at the original event on the WA Day long weekend, we’re pleased to report the upcoming festival is a locals-only affair, curated by our fave community radio station, RTRFM.
It’ll be headlined by West Australian music icons Eskimo Joe, who’ll be joined by Great Gable, Noah Dillon, Maatakitj, Angie Colman, and Anna Schneider. They’ll be providing the live music component of the free, family-friendly festival that will also offer a range of entertainment and attractions including free carnival rides, food trucks, a drone light show and a fireworks display.
“As a local and independent community radio station, it’s been a privilege for RTRFM to curate an all-West Australian line-up headlined by Eskimo Joe,” says RTRFM General Manager Simon Miraudo.
“The festival celebrates our community spirit and local businesses, welcoming families to join the festivities and share in our pride for Western Australia,” added Celebrate WA Chairman Scott Jones.
“With winter far behind us this November, we anticipate a vibrant turnout, inviting all Western Australians to partake in the essence of our State – what a great way to celebrate the start of summer. Accessibility is key, with free public transport and entry ensuring inclusivity for all.”
The festival will be part of a huge weekend of events for Perth, including the final weekend of PrideFEST and the free, three-day West Test Festival taking place at nearby Perth Stadium.
You’ll be able to catch public transport for free to WA Day Festival as part of Fare Free Sundays with a SmartRider – for more details head to waday.com.
