Between May 8 and 15, the Mandurah community will come together to welcome a brand new Thomas Dambo Giant to Coodanup Foreshore.

Since the Danish artists’s Giants of Mandurah opened in December, the outdoor sculpture trail has brought in a 400% visitor increase to Mandurah compared to the previous year.

The new Giant’s arrival follows the tragic destruction by arsonists of Giant Vivi Cirkelstone just weeks after the trail’s opening.

As part of the new Giant’s arrival, local volunteers are invited to help with its construction alongside Dambo’s team – with a free family event to celebrate all the Giants to be held at Coodanup Foreshore.

“The fact that the community will once again come together to help construct and install Thomas Dambo’s latest creation demonstrates how well-loved the Giants of Mandurah are,” Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman said.

“It has been wonderful to see the community come together to support the establishment of this one-of-a-kind outdoor exhibition, which will continue to elevate the fantastic Peel region as a tourism and leisure destination,” added Tourism Minister Roger Cook.

“I love the spirit of the community to come together with Thomas Dambo’s team to build the new Giant.”
