Ambitious new plans revealed to revamp Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre
Ambitious new plans for a complete overhaul of the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre (PCEC) have been revealed today by leaseholders Brookfield and Wyllie.
As per The West Australian this morning, the PCEC’s waterfront site will be transformed into a curving wharf with three jetties, along with a floating outdoor theatre facing back towards the shore.

Floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the Swan are another prominent feature, with plans for a bridge over William Street to connect the site to Elizabeth Quay.
The plans also include an increase the capacity of the PCEC itself, in the hope of luring larger scale global conferences and events to Perth.
The wharf would also provide opportunities for a number of hospitality offerings, along with the potential for a new ferry stop.
A formal plan will be presented to the WA Government later in 2024, including costs, funding options and construction timeframes.
