The ongoing floods crisis in Queensland and New South Wales has been devastating to watch, and we’re sure many of you are wondering how you can help.

Outside of sending donations to various charities and appeals (The Guardian has a helpful article on where to start HERE), going out and grabbing a beer at one of several Australian Venue Co. bars around can also help!

This week they’ve launched ‘Beers For Mates’, raising money across all of their 180+ venues across Australia until March 31, donating $1 from schooners and $2 from pint sales of select beers to Red Cross QLD and NSW Floods Appeal.

In the process it’ll help Red Cross enable volunteers and staffing at relief and outreach centres along with supporting the hardest hit communities of those regions, and it also gives you another great reason to visit our hospitality sector, currently working their way through some intense restrictions.

“Australian Venue Co is proud to be able to do what it can to help those in need,” said Paul Waterson, CEO at Australian Venue Co. “We want to do our part to support those communities in need during this challenging time. We know our customers feel the same way, so this initiative gives them the opportunity raise vital funds while enjoying a beer at their local.”

In Western Australia the selected beer is Swan Draught and the AVC venues you can pop into are: The Aviary, The Globe, The Guildford Hotel, Wolf Lane, Vic Park Hotel, Sweetwater Rooftop Bar, The Leopold, Civic Hotel and Bentley Hotel.
