A Freo Fave Has Taken Home Best Restaurant At This Year’s AHA Hospitality Awards
Three WA venues have taken home wins at the Australian Hotel Association’s National Awards for Excellence, which took place in Hobart this week.
The awards celebrate the best of the best in hotels, restaurants and bars across Australia, and our sleepy ol’ town’s world-class dining options have obviously made a big impact.

Freo’s Tonic + Ginger, the Old Synagogue‘s flagship dining venue, was awarded with one of the most prestigious awards of the evening: Best Restaurant – Metropolitan for 2022, beating out some of the country’s top eateries.
The Treendale Farm Hotel in Australind was the winner for Best Family Dining, while Karratha’s Blanche Bar received the accolade for Best Tourism Initiative – an amazing result for WA venues in the face of a year marked by uncertainty.
“WA’s hospitality industry has evolved remarkably over the past decade, with metropolitan Perth and the regions home to some of the best venues in the country,” AHA (WA) CEO Bradley Woods said in a statement. “When we do reopen our doors to the world and welcome back visitors, we can do so in the knowledge that our hospitality industry boasts world-class options across the state.”
