Bunnings Sausage Sizzles Are Returning To WA Only!
The coronavirus lockdowns Australia had to endure (and sadly Victoria are now heading back in to) took away a great many things we love.
Pubs, cinemas, local sport, restaurants, cafes… The list goes on.
And while for much of Australia many of these things are slowly coming back to us, one joy has been a glaring omission.
Since mid-March the iconic Bunnings Sausage Sizzle was stripped away from Australians in-line with coronavirus restrictions, a situation that looks set to change for one state by the end of the month…

That’s right, given WA has done so many things right in reducing the spread of COVID-19 (aided by our isolation and some very strict border restrictions), it looks we’ll be getting snags in a bun back in our hot little hands sooner than the rest of the country.
Talking to The West today, Bunnings COO Deb Poole said, “We know people are missing our community sausage sizzles and we are working on a careful plan to bring them back in places where restrictions have eased…
“We are consulting with governments and our charity partners to ensure we bring them back in a way that’s safe for everyone. We hope to have them back up and running in WA towards the end of the month pending final checks and consultation.”
Look, we don’t want to count our snaggers before they hatch, but fingers crossed we’ll be able to hook into some sausages, buns and cheap canned drinks very soon!
