Check into the Hijinx Hotel: Perth’s getting an immersive new games room funhouse

Funlab, the mad minds behind Holey Moley and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq are bringing a wild new playground to Perth this December with the opening of Hijinx Hotel.

The competitive playground features 10 challenge rooms that’ll test you and your friends inside a Wes Anderson meets Willy Wonka meets New York-style hotel.

Opening in Karrinyup Shopping Centre on December 1, 2023, bookings are now open for groups between two and six players to take on the ten quick play immersive games rooms and complete them in a four-minute window.

The Hotel features popular games like Adore-a-ball, Scrambled, and Lolly Ball Pool, along with a brand new room just for Perth: The Restaurant, where guests take a seat at the table to race against the clock to solve a host of puzzles.

Once you’ve clocked the challenges, there’s an expansive balcony bar on site to wind down with a few cheeky cocktails and snacks like pizzas, burgers, tacos, nachos and more.

“Our venues are the sort of fun that aren’t just entertaining, they’re fun you need to experience first-hand to realise it could even exist,” said Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber. “That’s why we’re so excited to bring our Hijinx Hotel brand to Perth and give locals the chance to experience out-of-this-world fun.”

Schreiber says it’s perfect for hens, bucks and corporate parties, along with date nights, team building exercises or just a family day out, “the perfect destination for all ages to enjoy some competitive socialising fun.”
