A Christmas Sand Sculpture Village Is Coming To Elizabeth Quay!
We may not get a snowy, white Christmas, but at least we can have a sandy one!
Elizabeth Quay is in the process of transforming into a Christmas wonderland thanks to internationally-renowned, Perth-born sand sculptor Jennifer Rossen.
A gargantuan, 100-ton pile of sand has already been poured, which will be expertly compacted and carved into a 4-5 metre tall sculpture, with a nativity scene on one side and a Santa Surprise on the other.
Carving started yesterday, with the first reveal scheduled to take place on November 18 as part of the City of Perth Christmas Light Trail. The sculpture will remain on display until January 2, 2023, with sand sculpture workshops taking place between November 18 and December 2 – so you can learn all the tricks of the trade!
