Meet the team behind Perth’s newest music festival, Embrace, launching next weekend!
Kicking off with its very first edition next Saturday 10 February, Embrace is the latest music festival to grace Perth’s party-hungry population.
Serving up an electronic wonderland of house, drum’n’bass, techno and dance, the immersive experience heads to Palm Lane in East Perth with a stacked lineup of international guests supported by a heap of local legends.
Headlined by UK drum’n’bass demon Macky Gee (pictured below), Embrace is flush with some big names in dance music, including fellow UK talent CASSÖ, Kimmic, Sub Zero, Ruth Royall and T95, alongside national stars Ben Gerrans, Ekko 7 Sidetrack, Odd Mob, Restricted and Tom Santa.
Embrace is the first event of its size for up-and-coming Perth promoters Issac Jones and Bailey Chalmers, who formed Together Group last year after creating one of the city’s most popular club nights, The Vault, at Lucy’s Love Shack every Saturday night.
“We both forever have had the dream to run our own music festival and have slowly been chipping away at it and finally decided to take the punt and go all in on it!” the duo says on the eve of Embrace’s launch.
“It has been challenging, time consuming and rewarding. We both have great experience in creating a product and being able to market it, now this time we are doing it, just on a larger scale.”
Indeed it’s been a steep learning curve for the two of them, saying Embrace has opened their eyes and helped garner a huge amount of respect for the major players in the industry running large-scale touring festivals.
Alongside success obviously, they’re hopeful of bringing something fresh to Perth’s electronic music scene, from the melding of popular genres to showcasing exciting new talent.
“We feel like there is a missing piece in Perth right now covering drum’n’bass, house and techno all on the same lineup and we are excited to help bring these mix of sounds together…

“There also is a crazy amount of emerging talent coming out of Australia currently that we are interested in getting on future lineups to help further push the scene for Australian electronic music.”
To go with the forward-thinking lineup will be a forward-thinking, immersive show at the Palm Lane space in East Perth, hopefully the first of many to come…
“We really are hoping to bring something different for people to experience, whether it’s an interesting and unfamiliar stage build, activation, sound or look of the site.
“We are planning for this to be a long term project as we have pretty much chucked all of our eggs into this basket, so the aim is for this to grow along with everything that is growing around us, such as; talent, different sounds, ideas and everything in-between.”
