Not since regularly-controversial days of Liquid Nightclub has the coastal city of Rockingham had a late-night venue to properly get around, which is all set to change with the opening of Encore.
Following an extensive $3 million fit-out that includes a state-of-the-art sound system and mesmerising lighting design, Encore is looking to liven up Rockingham’s nightlife scene.
“First and foremost, Encore is an entertainment venue — not a nightclub, but an elevated space for Rockingham’s amazing community and music lovers across the state to see a huge range of live entertainment,” explains Encore Director and hospo veteran, Marc Kenly.
Sitting above pub VAT116, Encore has its sights set on bringing some of Australia’s top talent a little further south than Perth, with X Factor and The Voice alumni Matt Gresham joining Fenly as Entertainment Manager for the venue.
“We’ve covered it all at Encore. It’s the first-ever entertainment space of its caliber in the area and we’re rapt to be putting Rockingham on the map for musicians and their fans,” says Gresham (pictured below with Fenly, right), who has toured with the likes of Guy Sebastian and Vera Blue.
The venue plans to hose shows and ticketed events from Wednesday to Sunday each week, covering a diverse array of entertainment including comedy, open mics, tribute nights, drag performers, local original music and more, including in-house DJs taking over the tunes until 2am.
Design firm BHO Interiors were in charge of the venue transformation, crafted a 250-person capacity space that includes a wall-to-ceiling feature wall of 100-plus back-lit Belvedere Vodka bottles, elevated platforms and viewing areas, elegant booths, and more.
The bar will be slinging quality cocktails, high-end spirits, an extensive Champagne list and local and international wines.
