Li’l Old Perth Was The Only Aussie Destination To Make Forbes’ 2023 Best Places To Travel List!
“Where should you travel in 2023?” asks Forbes recent ‘The 23 Best Places To Travel In 2023‘ article, and wouldn’t you know it, our little old home town gets a shout!
That’s right, out of the 23 destinations listed, Perth came in at number 9 on the list, sitting pretty amongst the likes of Marrakesh in Morocco, Canada’s Lake Louise and Paros, Greece.
The influential media company recently consulted with fine arts and contemporary culture TV network Ovation to find out where they’re recommending for travel in 2023:

“After a year of unprecedented demand for travel, our travel advisors are recommending destinations that are new alternatives to old classics,” said Sunil Mahtani, executive vice president of OvationNetwork. “They’re places you can celebrate, reconnect and curate lasting memories.”
When it comes to Perth and why one might head our way, the article says “often overlooked for international travel because it’s remote, Perth has a laid-back vibe and life centered around the water – both the Swan River and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.”
No arguments there. It also sites our renowned vineyards and great food scene as must-dos, while a day trip to Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) can’t be missed, offering “more than 60 white sandy beaches and the ultimate Instagram celebrities: the quokkas, tiny marsupials with distinctive faces.”
