Miss The Big Screen? Galaxy Drive-In Theatre Is Re-Opening This Friday!
The coronavirus pandemic has taken away a lot of things we took for granted up until March this year.
Catching up with more than one friend, going to the pub, playing sport, watching sport… It’s a long list you know all too well.
One of the many major impacts of coronavirus has been the complete shutdown of the cinema industry, from making films all the way up to screening them.
With cinemas closing all over the world, this week we have received the good news that Perth’s only drive-in theatre is re-opening this Friday 22 May.
While regular cinemas will be able to start opening as part of ‘Phase 3’ of WA’s ‘Roadmap to Recovery’, for understandable reasons we get the drive-in option a little earlier.
Safely tucked into your car with family and friends, Galaxy will be screening double-headers on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, along with a single showing on Tuesday nights from 7pm (gates at 6.15pm).

It’s also still a lot cheaper than traditional cinemas. Adults are $11 and kids 4-12 $5.50 (under 4 free), and the Tuesday special is $22/car.
The first double header is Sonic The Hedgehog followed by the John Cena firefighter family comedy, Playing With Fire.
No word yet on future programming, although given no new movies are being released for a while, we’re predicting a few classics amongst more contemporary fare.
Head to the Galaxy Drive-In Website to book tickets now, we get the feeling it’s gonna be pretty popular over the coming weeks!
