In today’s piece of feel-good news, Perth philanthropists have raised $1.33 million for children with cancer at a recent event in the city.

The money was raised at the Gold Series – Perth 2024 event, held at Montgomery Hall and the funds raised will go towards the fight to change the future of sick kids.

Sadly, every year, around a thousand kids across the country are diagnosed with cancer and every week three die from the disease.

All the money raised at the Gold Series in Perth will go towards world-class research that will focus on the best outcomes for children and young people.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundatio (SCHF) CEO Kristina Keneally thanked the donors and committee of Gold Series – Perth 2024.

“Gold Series – Perth has shown philanthropy at its most powerful, making a lasting impact and changing the future for sick kids,” said Keneally.

Those committee members included Bryce Sceresini (Chair), Ania Fry, Mei Yong, and Sarita Escalante who helped bring the Series to Montgomery Hall.

One of the major prize partners was Laurence Escalante’s Lance East Office, who put three incredible experiences up for auction: A two-night Superyacht Weekend in Perth for 10 people; a day aboard a super-rare Lamborghini 63 yacht for up to 10 people (pictured below); and a tour of the impressive LEE Collection of exclusive private cars plus track laps with pro drivers.

Tiffany & Co, ProMondo Sports and Space Collective also had fantastic prizes up for auction.

The gala event was hosted by Channel Seven’s Tim McMillan and featured some cracking entertainment from Jessica Mauboy (pictured below).

Other valued attendees included the Minister for Health, The Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson BA MLA, as well as Yaz Mubarakai, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education; Aboriginal Affairs; Citizenship and Multicultural Interests and Former Indigenous Affairs Minister, Ken Wyatt.

“We are deeply grateful to the dedicated Gold Series – Perth Committee for creating such a special event,” added Keneally. “Their efforts inspired the local community to raise significant funds to support life-changing cancer research and treatment.”

SCHF, Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (PCHF) and Children’s Cancer Institute (CCI) all expressed their gratitude for the generosity of the Perth community.

“It’s fantastic to join forces with SCHF and CCI to bring the Gold Series to Perth,” PCHF CEO Carrick Robinson said. “The 2024 Perth committee members organised an exceptional evening, and once again, the level of support shown by the Western Australian community has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
