Whatever your thoughts on the Monarchy and Queen Elizabeth, it’s impossible to deny her immense presence in our history after sitting on the throne for seven decades, and we’re sure there are many of you out there feeling genuinely upset at her passing this morning our time.

If you’re one of those people and would like to pay your respects in some kind of physical sense, Government House on St. George’s Terrace has officially entered mourning phase, beginning with a wreath laying earlier this morning.

At 9.30am the Lady Kyle Gardens were then opened to the public for anyone who wishes to lay flowers or pay their respects, and there is an official Condolence Book available to sign inside the Government House Ballroom until 7.30pm today.

The Condolence Book will again be open to the public over the weekend between 8am and 6pm.
