Just over a year ago we shared the exciting news that a massive koala playground was coming to Movida Estate in Swan View, and last weekend that epic playground came to life!

Koala Cove has been specially designed around the formations of Blackadder Creek, and provides an immersive, Australiana-themed playground surrounded by native scenery.

And at its heart is a 10-metre-high koala play tower!

“Through innovative design, the new park and playground seamlessly integrate with the existing landscape, enhancing the natural assets in the environment around them,” said Peet Managing Director and CEO, Brendan Gore.

Mr Gore said connection and community were an important part of residential developer Peet’s planning, a sentiment echoed by Nick Zulberti, Design Manager at LD Total.

“In designing Movida’s Koala Cove, we wanted to celebrate Australian flora, fauna, and landscapes. The spatial layout is a subtle nod to iconic Australia landscapes such as mangroves, wetlands, and salt lakes, with the colour and texture of these locations referenced in material and colour choices.”

Koala Cove spans five hectares, and is appropriate for kids of all ages with basketball and netball facilities, a flying fox, barbecue and picnic areas, expansive green spaces, and scenic walking trails, along with toddler play areas.

If you’re keen to pay the big koala a visit, Movida Estate is 22 minutes from the CBD and five minutes from Midland Town Centre.
