Lightscape launches in Kings Park on Friday – here’s a little sneak peek
After first hearing about it in December last year, the time has finally arrived for the much-anticipated Lightscape take over of Kings Park for the next six weeks.
The 1.8 kilometre trail features over 430,000 lights along an interactive trail bursting with light, colour and sound that takes around 90 minutes to complete.
Local and international artists have taken part in the project, creating illuminated tree canopies, massive flowers and what looks to be the hero of the piece, a magical glowing tunnel.

Lightscape has thrilled audiences around the globe, including showcase events in Sydney and Melbourne, with a focus on conservation and culture.
Kings Park has also collaborated with First Nations artists to create new art pieces exclusive to the Kings Park edition of Lightscape.
“This spectacular display will capture the imaginations of more than 150,000 visitors and provides the opportunity to see our very own Kings Park in, quite literally, a whole new light,” said Environment Minister Reece Whitby.
Tickets start at $36, with $120 family passes also available – find out more and grab them via the Lightscape website.
