A new IKEA is opening in Perth next year! (kind of)
IKEA Australia has revealed today the location for its new Perth location in Cannington, but it comes with a slight caveat…
Opening in early 2024, it won’t be an Innaloo-style megastore, rather the third of their new smaller formats, called an IKEA Plan and order point.
According to a statement from IKEA, “The aim of IKEA Plan and order points is simple: offering a more accessible and convenient shopping experience for customers.”
At the store customers will be able to get personalised advice from an IKEA expert to “help plan complex areas of the home, kitchens, and wardrobes, either by pre-booking a planning appointment via the IKEA website or simply walking in to browse.”
In an Australia-first it’ll also have a Pick Up Point, meaning customers who place orders online for any products across the IKEA range can arrange to pick it up from the Cannington location.

The Pick Up Point will have a separate entrance to the Plan and order point. Johanna Gbenplay, Market Area Manager, IKEA Australia says, “The Plan and order point format means IKEA is more accessible than ever and can be exactly where our customers need us to be.
“With IKEA Perth in Innaloo in the north, we’re so pleased to be able to offer a convenient location to our customers south of the river too from early 2024,” said Johanna Gbenplay, Market Area Manager, IKEA Australia.
“Cannington Plan and order point is the place to come to get one-on-one IKEA life at home expertise to make planning a kitchen or wardrobe upgrade simple.”
Bookings for planning appointments at IKEA Cannington will be able to be made via the IKEA website from early 2024.
