Hospitality group Nokturnl – the operators behind successful multi-level venues The Old Synagogue and The Beaufort – have just signed on as part of Yagan Square’s reactivation plan.

After a competitive tender process, the group has signed a 30-year lease with the State Government, with the Market Hall to be reconfigured and expanded into five floors of eating and drinking – twice the size of Mount Lawley’s The Beaufort. This expansion will also increase the venue to 3000sqm and its capacity up to an impressive 1500 people.

“I want to be clear – the previous model of Yagan Square has not worked,” Lands Minister and State Member for Perth John Carey said in a statement.

“Our Government wants Yagan Square to be a vibrant, safe, family-friendly space, constantly buzzing with offerings and activities that attract residents and tourists alike, day and night.”

“The reconfigured Market Hall will follow the successful approach adopted at Nokturnl’s other venues, and will feature venues suitable to all age groups. The concept also includes a live music venue which will be an incredible assets with ECU also joining the precinct.”
