This Saturday 21st of January marks five years since Optus Stadium opened its doors, and it’s cause for celebration!

Over the journey the pride of Perth has been home to over 180 major events and almost 6,500 tours, in the process hosting almost 7 million punters from here and abroad, experiencing its world class facilities.

Since opening back in 2018, it has taken out 59 (!) awards, including being recognised as the World’s Most Beautiful Stadium at UNESCO’s Prix Versailles in 2019, and last year being named Venue of the Year at the global Stadium Business Awards in 2022.

Optus Stadium Perth Grand Final

There’s been over 180 AFL, cricket, rugby union, rugby league, soccer and concert events over that same period, including some of the world’s biggest musical artists and even an AFL Grand Final!

On the food, bev and service side of things, more than 3.7 million litres of Gage Roads has been poured, 700,000 pies and pastries and over 2 million serves of hot chippies, served up by over 11,000 casual hospitality event day staff.

All the fun isn’t just inside the stadium either, with rooftop experiences and the soon-to-kick-off Stadium Karts offering exciting new ways to experience the stadium.

To mark the occasion the stadium is celebrating by searching its Number One Fan to win a 2023 Golden Ticket AKA a double pass to every single event at the stadium this year.
