It’s Official: A Surf Park Is Finally Coming To Perth
In case you missed the news over the weekend, it was announced by the Western Australian Government that global surf park developer/investors Aventuur, Inc. are the preferred proponent to deliver an integrated surf park development in Perth.
The company’s $80 million proposal won out a competitive bidding process undertaken by the government, and will see the development of the southern hemisphere’s largest next gen surf park.
Featuring a Wavegarden ‘Cove’ surfing lagoon (the same technology used at Melbourne’s Urbnsurf park), it will be located on a 5.7 hectare site at Prinsep Road in Jandakot, near the Cockburn Train Station.
Along with the lagoon, the area will be home to a boutique surfing hotel, health and wellness centre, co-working offices, functions and event spaces, performance academy, beach club, restaurants and more.

The company’s delivery team is headed up by Perth-based Andrew Ross, Aventuur’s Chairman & Chief Development Officer, who is also the Founder and former Executive Chairman of the company that developed Australia’s first surf park in Melbourne, which also features Wavegarden ‘Cove’ technology.
“We’re incredibly excited to have won the bid to build a world-class surf park in Perth. This moment has been almost a decade in the making for me. To bring a surf park to my hometown has always been my dream, and I’m stoked it’s now becoming a reality,” he said.
We’ll be keeping you posted with any new developments as the process continues.
