As you may have guessed, the current storm fronts lashing Perth and much of south west Western Australia are wreaking havoc, with power outages affecting tens of thousands around the city.

And Perth Airport is the latest affected this afternoon, with an announcement a short while ago via Twitter stating: “Power to Perth Airport has temporarily been impacted. The outage will cause delays to air services. Safety and security remain our highest priorities.”

WA Today is reporting that flights, check-in services, security points and carparks are all being impacted, with some passengers claiming they are stuck on runways having landed, with others unable to board as planes can’t be loaded with luggage.

Earlier today it was reported that over 20,000 people had their power restored after storm activity, with more than 15,000 still affected as Western Power was called to more than 500 incidents.
