Rottnest Island’s main jetty has had a $12.9 million upgrade, ready for a huge summer of visitors.

Located at the Thomson Bay Settlement, the jetty is the main point of arrival for visitors to the island.

The concrete deck area of the jetty has been extended five metres, as well as almost five additional metres in width. The extension will ease congestion during peak times, while a new wave screen will improve the ability to use one of the berths during strong northerly winds.

As well as the jetty upgrades, the 9PM summer ferry service has returned for the summer season! Running from December 15 to March 31, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings you can get the most out of your visit with a later departure from the island.

The island’s booking system has also been overhauled, with new booking website Stay Rottnest. The new system aims to improve the visibility of available accommodation, as well as improved room descriptions, floor plans and images.
