Swan Draught AKA the nectar of the gods, has made its way back to being brewed in the west following almost 10 years of production in Adelaide and Sydney.

Late yesterday The West’s Simon Collins reported that Swanny D’s parent company Lion is looking to overcome supply chain issues by shifting brewing back to WA from NSW, where it has been brewed since June last year.

In 2013 Lion shifted brewing to West End Brewery in Adelaide, after the lager had been brewed in WA since 1857.

Brewing in WA will be undertaken at Little Creatures, and Lion WA sales director Jamie Ryan told The West a strict emulation process had been employed to ensure consistency, suggesting WA will now be getting the freshest drops of Swan Draught in the country.

While some of the production will still occur in NSW, Lion hopes all WA keg production will soon be undertaken at Little Creatures.

Local products being actually brewed locally? We’ll drink to that.
