Looking For A Laugh? The Comedy Lounge Is Serving ‘Em Up In Spades

“What the Perth Concert Hall is to music, The Comedy Lounge is to comedy – purpose-built, world-class and world-renowned.”

So says the team at one of Australia and the world’s only purpose-built comedy clubs.

And you’d be hard-pressed to find an argument against the notion, with the venue just taking out Fringe World’s best Independent Venue Award – a considerable feat given the size and scale of this year’s massive Fringe.

The list of luminaries who have graced the stage of the Comedy Lounge is also testament to its quality, with the likes of Jim Jeffries, Tom Gleeson, Arj Barker, Stephen K Amos, Joel Creasy and many more all plying their wares under the warm yellow lights in recent years.

More than just a successful Fringe venue though, the Comedy Lounge is open Wednesday through to Saturday, and it’s fast becoming an excellent stop in for any occasion, be they awkward first dates, after work drinks or just a boozy, banter-fuelled night with your best and brightest buds.

Located smack bang in the middle of the city’s hotel precinct along Murray St, look out for the colourful alleyway halfway between Tiger Lil’s and Amplifier.

From there you head up the stairs – careful to note the comedy luminaries who’ve already performed at the venue – before nabbing a beverage from their expansive bar, scoping their chill food menu and settling into the dimly lit comedy lounge.

It’s basically like you’re walking into the credits of Seinfeld.

And given the current state of play around the world, we reckon everyone can use a LOT more laughter to help forget about the lack of toilet paper at home.
