Northbridge Institution The Hummus Club Is Shutting Its Doors

One of Northbridge’s most popular and consistent foodie spots, The Hummus Club announced over the weekend that it will be shutting up shop later this year. While there have been rumours this was in the works for a while now, this time it’s for a real.

They let everyone know via an emotional post on Facebook on Sunday, which reads:

“So this is it. Our time at 258 William Street is coming to an end. There has been stops and starts during this year- but this one is the finale.
Our purpose was to bring to Perth a fresh new perspective on the Mid East. A unique viewpoint of everything that is often overlooked but should be celebrated. From the amazing culture of sharing plates of mezza, to the generous and resilient people, to the best producers, makers and creatives from the Mid East- and interlinked that with the best of the Perth scene and its creatives. A connecting bridge between people and cultures, an intersection between the past and the present.
We feel like we have achieved that mission. It’s been a success in every way. And we are all very proud of that.
But for now we must lay this vehicle to rest, travel new paths and create new experiences.
As such, from next week we will be launching our shared set menu The Mid East Experience until we close on 3/7/21. A look back at all our favourite mezza and plates from our time here as well as the newest creations. It’s our favourite way to showcase the story of food, drink and culture created at THC. A time to come together and connect.

While it’s incredibly sad news, there’s something to be said for getting out while you’re on top, and The Hummus Club will definitely be doing that right up until close in July. And it does give you a bit of time to get in their enjoy one last feast (or two…or three)!
