All Aboard: Perth Is Getting Its First Permanent Floating Events Space!
More and more of Perth is opening up in a post-COVID world, so much so that even places that didn’t exist before are on the agenda.
After four years of planning, approvals and builds, this September sees WA’s first permanent floating event space, The Raft setting sail on the Swan River!
Overlooking Elizabeth Quay at the base of Kings Park, The Raft is a huge 445 square metre boat that can hold up 250 people, and will be available to hire for private events.
Just get a load of this deck:
It’s the brainchild of Perth-born siblings Katie and Dan Chrystal, bringing their east coast water-based event experiences back home.

There’s chef-catered events packages on offer for private bookings, plus The Raft will be hosting brand launch parties, ticketed music shows and more.
After a three-week trip down from Darwin, The Raft has been docked at Kailis Marine in Freo, where Guild Hall designer Gabrielle Scott has overseen the interior design and helping get the vessel into ship shape.
Fully licensed and looking smooth as heck, it’s one of those “Why didn’t we think of this sooner” propositions, and we can’t wait to check it out.
