Monthly cult movie mecca Trash Classics kicks off at Luna Leederville this week!
From nostalgic murder mysteries, synth-drenched sleeper hits or ’90s cyberpunk thrills, Trash Classics have been keeping the spirit of the VHS movie well and truly alive – and they’re back for a sixth season of succulent cinematic sorcery at Luna Leederville.
Hosted and curated by Tristan Fidler, from RTRFM’s Movie Squad and Luna’s The Room screenings, each screening is sure to be a masterclass of cheesiness, and a communal experience of everything that makes these cult faves so darn watchable… After all, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
This season, they’ll be kicking things off with epic ’80s rock and roll fantasy Streets of Fire , starring a Willem Dafoe as villainous biker Raven, a young Diane Lane, and plenty of leather!
The season will run until July, and will also feature beloved classics like 1985’s Clue, 1995 Keanu Reeves cyberpunk opus Johnny Mnemonic, 2014 underrated and neon-lit gem The Guest and, of course, Vampire’s Kiss: the 1989 satirical horror comedy starring Nicolas Cage that launched a million memes.
