After entering Australia’s east coast market earlier this year, Vietnamese airline Vietjet now services all five major cities after launching in Perth and Adelaide.
The first direct Vietjet flight from Vietnam to Perth landed yesterday afternoon, with Perth Airport Chief Operating Officer Scott Woodward, Deputy Premier Hon Rita Saffioti and the airline’s Vice President there to welcome the flight and passengers.
Flights depart from Perth at 9.55am WST and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 3.40pm (local time) every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with return flights leaving Ho Chi Minh at 6.35am and arriving in Perth at 2.20pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The direct flight time cuts the trip from Perth to Vietnam down from 10+ hours with layovers to just six-and-a-half.
“Vietjet provides affordable air travel with a strong focus on customer service, and we are delighted to welcome the airline to Perth Airport and we look forwards to building on the relationship to deliver a great new holiday destination in Vietnam for Western Australians,” said Woodward.
“It is a great sign for Western Australia to see airlines show keen interest in delivering new air services to Perth Airport and opening up non-stop access to new international destinations.”
Vietjet is celebrating the launch with a promotion of 58,000 discounted tickets (a nod to the airline’s now-58 weekly flights in Australia) across the Australian network from today (November 22).
If you book now for a trip between January 1 and October 31 next year, you could score one-way fares for as low as $165*.
