“WA Is The World’s Biggest Exporter Of GST.” This 80s-Style Instructional Video For West Aussies Is Hilarious
If there’s one thing Western Australians think they can do, it’s laugh at themselves, and this is the central conceit of a random video we found this week, created by Perth-based brand consultancy firm Block Branding.
Counting the likes of the Fremantle Dockers, the City Of Mandurah, Freo.Social, the Lester Prize and Karrinyup Shopping Centre as previous clients, the video we stumbled upon appears to be very much a “one for them” curio that’s painfully accurate.

From our “impenetrable imaginary wall” that runs “the entire 3 million kilometre length of the eastern border” to the only two animals that reside in Western Australia, black swans and quokkas, “a small, flightless swan, native to the rubbish bins of Rottnest Island,” it’s a fantastic laugh.
